Jennifer F. Scanlon is President and CEO of UL. Scanlon’s deep commitment to the role science, technology, education and math play in solving the greatest challenges in safety, sustainability and security, shape her approach to leadership and customer focus.
Scanlon, who began her career at IBM, was most recently President & CEO of USG Corporation, where she also previously served as CIO. Scanlon led the company through major international expansion, and transformed the role of technology in driving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and the development of sustainable building materials.
Scanlon is a fierce advocate for STEM education and the benefits of diversity and inclusion. She serves on the boards of Norfolk Southern Corporation and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. She holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds dual degrees in government and computer applications from the University of Notre Dame.
