Don Lindsay was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Teck in 2005. Before joining Teck, Mr. Lindsay was President of CIBC World Markets and led the bank’s Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the Asia Pacific Region. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for CIBC’s Global Mining Group.
Mr. Lindsay is a member of the Board of Directors of Manulife Financial Corporation and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Canada. He is also Chair of the International Council on Mining and Metals, and serves on the Board of Directors for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, York House School, and is an Honorary Governor of the Royal Ontario Museum.
Mr. Lindsay holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) Mining Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals, and in 2014, he was named to the Order of British Columbia.
